The Shelter Project is a safe haven initiative designed to temporarily house and protect women and children escaping abuse, neglect, or life-threatening situations. This project offers more than shelter; it offers stability, access to legal and psychosocial support, and the tools for survivors to rebuild their lives with dignity. The shelter is a physical and symbolic space of refuge, healing, and renewal. JRF currently partners with other shelters with capacity to house these victims or survivors. We are working to get donors who would support our vision of establishing a JRF-owned shelter for these purposes, as they are limited within the space in which we operate.
